You can expect new beauty products to hit the market just about daily. New brands, new collaborations, new projects—beauty news has a lot to report on, and we haven’t even touched on the new products hitting stores every day. But with all this newness, you can expect most of them won’t actually inspire us. How are we to know what to buy when we’re inundated with new things all the time? The answer cannot be to buy everything in sight (as much as I wish it could).

As a beauty editor, the onus is on me to seek out the new products that are actually worth our time and energy. I have a knack for what gimmicks are worth the hype and what we can leave on the shelves, and I can’t deny that I’ve got pretty damn good taste. Here’s a full rundown of all the new beauty launches I’m excited about right now.

Fibre Mascara

MAC hasn’t launched a mascara in a little while, and the Gigablack Lash is one of my absolute favorites when I want to look like I naturally have long, luscious eyelashes. This is basically fake eyelashes in a tube. It has 5mm fibers that mimic the look of lash extensions, giving you the extreme length and volume you would only get from falsies or extensions. When I wore this one time, I got three compliments from strangers on how long my eyelashes were—one was from a girl who had lash extensions on!

Hydrating Skin Tint

It’s the summer of the skin tint, and you’ll be hard-pressed to find me wearing anything else this year (except this magic foundation that I’m obsessed with). It’s a lightweight, typically sheer-to-light coverage product that evens out skin tones. Milani came through with a glowy, hydrating version that’s perfect for dry to normal skin types. For my friends with oily skin, you can still use this with just a little setting powder.

Stronger Hair Serum

This luxury French hair care brand is finally stateside (at our favorite place, Nordstrom!), and I immediately added about five items to my cart. From the entire line, these serums, especially this one for promoting stronger hair, are the most innovative. It contains peptides and other active ingredients that leave your hair feeling stronger every time you use it. It’s a dry oil, so you don’t have to worry about it leaving your hair greasy. After using the treatment for three months, they claim you can expect more volume, density, strength, and shine. To use, section dry or towel-dried hair into four sections at the roots, apply a full dropper (or more, depending on how much hair you have) to each section, then massage it in. Let it dry and don’t rinse. You’ll notice the best results using this every day.

HUDA Beauty

GloWish Bronzer

Huda Beauty’s newest sister brand GloWish is all about glowy, light products (which is pretty different from the brand’s other products that are basically all geared toward full coverage). They launched with a skin tint (which I’m already in love with; it’s so glowy and has such a great shade range) and this bronzer. The marbled look gives this bronzer a satin finish that blends evenly and smoothly, giving your skin that “just got back from vacay” tan—but without the sun damage!

Classic Lotion SPF 30

Get ready to see this sunscreen brand all over your Instagram feed. Focused on the nostalgia of childhood summer vacations, Vacation is making sunscreen ultra cool. With their first product, they launched the “best-smelling sunscreen on Earth,” which, after trying, I have to agree. It’s everything I want to smell like on a beach vacation: a mix of tropical smells, the classic sunscreen scent, and coconut. It reminds me of washing sand off my feet before getting in the family minivan to go to dinner after a long day at the beach. It’s also clear, lightweight, and perfect for both your face and body. I personally have been using the Mineral Sunscreen on my face, and I’m loving that too. It has a little white cast like other mineral sunscreens, but it turns clear once you blend it in.

Soft Blush Stick

After I watched my favorite makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes hype this up on her Instagram Story, I knew I’d have to eventually try it for myself. Available in six shades ranging from light pink to deep plum to bright coral and raspberry, this glowy, cream blush comes in a stick format that seems easy to apply and somehow even easier to blend. Also, it’s double-ended, with a brush on the end to blend out the product. I want this for every single trip I have this summer (and hopefully, in a few different shades).

Iconic London

Glow Booster

We’re finally seeing an influx of glowy base products similar to the innovation Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter created. This one seems to have a thicker consistency with a more shimmery finish that’s perfect for summer, but it comes in tons of shades, so you’re bound to find your perfect match. You can put this in foundation, add it to the top of your cheekbones as a highlighter, or apply it under your makeup as a primer. Any way you want to glow, you can do it with this.

Peach & Lilly

Peach Slices Exfoliator

From the brand that makes our absolute favorite acne spot dots is a full acne-fighting kit including a cleanser, this exfoliator, and a moisturizer. I’m always down to add a new exfoliator to my routine because I like to rotate them, and this one stands out. It’s low pH, alcohol-free, and contains 2 percent salicylic acid, glycolic acid, and lactic acid to exfoliate away dead skin and remove dirt and oil from pores. This exfoliator will not only treat existing breakouts, but it’s also a strong fighter against new ones forming. Apply this with a cotton pad all over your skin once a day at first, and then you can do it up to 2-3 times a day if your skin tolerates it.

Uoma by Sharon C.

Cleansing Oil

We already love UOMA Beauty, but then its founder had to go and make Uoma by Sharon C, an affordable line under UOMA Beauty makeup and skincare, and I completely lost it. I love UOMA’s makeup products, so I’m really excited to dabble with the skincare, like this cleansing oil. Whether you like a cleansing oil because it’s extra gentle and moisturizing or to double cleanse for removing makeup, it’s filled with natural oils like castor oil, olive oil, and grapeseed oil, along with white mulberry extract (a great antioxidant) and vitamin E (to promote super soft skin). Plus, it’s made of 100 percent post-consumer recycled materials. Apply this to dry skin, and it’ll dissolve makeup, dirt, sebum, and more once you add a little water to turn it into a milky cleanser. Rinse away with water, then use another cleanser or do the rest of your skincare routine.
